Dear Mr. Urquhart,
Hello! My name is Lauren Athey. I'm finishing a master of music degree in voice performance this year. I'm including your song "On this wondrous sea" on my program, which is dedicated to American songs. It's a gorgeous song!!!!!!!!!
I've included my program, if you're interesting in looking.
I'm writing to ask your date of birth, if you don't mind.
Thank you so much! I feel honored to sing your music!
Warmly,
Lauren Athey

Beautiful new website, Craig. Onward with your honest, lovely, graceful, yet strong music!

Rick - Tuesday, January 8th, 2008
Craig – I recently came across your music on XM Audio Vision. Will you be doing any public concerts out here in the West Coast? I would love to attend one of your concerts. Your music is beautiful and spiritual. Thank you for what you do.

"As a longtime devotee of Craig Urquhart's music, I am thrilled yet again with his latest release, the instant classic, "Secret Spaces." In this return to solo piano, the master delivers another heartfelt, magnificent masterpiece. Talk about meditative! Urquhart was my constant companion in a number of European airports as I listened on my iPod, the melodious and ever wondrous sounds instantly removing me from the frenzied realities of modern-day sojourning. Seriously, if you haven't already heard the supple, superb and sumptuous stylings of this astonishing pianist-composer, you are in for a decided treat. Urquhart continues to grow deeper and more complex with each release. Long may he gift us with his abiding genius."

Well you have done it again. I did not think you could top the music you have written in the past but "Secret Spaces" does just that. I have enjoyed New Age Piano music for many years but I do not think that Craigs music really falls into this catagory. I see his music more as Melodic 21st Century Music. I would suggest that Craig put out to versions of his CD's. One for the New Age fans with the titles he now uses and one with more classical titles like instead of just Romance, call it Romance in D Minor, call them preludes, Etudes what ever just not titles that set them off as New Age. This would satisfy the classical lovers of which many do not give New Age music a listen to. Maybe New York music lovers are differant but I know what classical fans are like in the mid-west and on the West Coast. I would add that the only thing that equals listening to Craigs music is playing it yourself. It gives me great presure to sit at the piano and play his music. If you have not discovered his music yet now is the time with this new album but then get the rest of them because they all are great. I am hoping that someday Craig will come to the West Coast to give a concert. In the meantime I will settle for his CD's and playing his music myself. Thanks Craig.

I absolutely love the new CD "Secret Spaces." Have the CD in my car - so listen to it whenever I'm driving, and downloaded it into my ipod - and play it while writing, reading. The piano compositions are exquisite -emotionally expansive and grounding at the same time. It's an extraordinary collection.

Craig Urquhart's latest musical outing - this time with tenor Michael Slattery - stuns with its pure beauty, both vocally and pianistically. Setting various texts - from Dickinson to Whitman and D. H. Lawrence and others - to the melismatic sounds of Urquhart's lush, trance-like melodies, the composer has, indeed, crafted a work for the ages. This is a must-have album that can be savored by connoisseurs of all stripes. Why Urquhart isn't a major superstar is beyond this reviewer.

I have not heard anything from Craig that is not fantasic. This is the first vocal music I have heard from him and it is as great as his solo piano music. I studied voice and my speciality was the American Art Song. I wish I would have had songs like that back then. Micheal has the perfect voice for these songs.

I have been wanting you write to you re. you beautiful cd. "Secret and Divine Signs" The way you set a mood for each piece is so so great. People could learn from you re. this. (and other things as well)!!!
The instant you start playing, a strong and clear emotion and mood is established. I really love what I hear and the way the text is uplifted and for me, enhanced. Michael Slattery is a beautiful singer

Craig I discovered your music only recently and it has made a big change in my life. I play your piano music everyday now and it just gives me such comfort. I have been emotionally broken for some time. I lost my partner and all my friends in San Diego in a six year period. It was devistating. Music has always been my savior but lately it just was not doing it for me and then I dicovered your music. Now I play everyday again and it is really helping me feel better. It is my friend. I know that sounds odd but it is true. I hope you are still composing piano music like this. I have everyone of your piano books and looking forward to your next book.
Thanks again Craig

Thank you for creating some of the richest and rarest music I have ever heard. I have a huge collection of solo piano music – many artists had been introduced to me from solopianoradio.com - and although all of the artists produce wonderful music, your tonal approach is different somehow. It is elegantly simple with tonal harmonies that are very, very pleasing to listen to – simple yet somehow unusually rich and complex. I just had to order your sheet music to "Songs Without Words" as well!

Very Sincerely,

Chuck

"You can tell there is a powerful amount of experience in
your piano touch... I think I learned something very good watching you
perform..."

You have the nicest touch and get the best tone from the piano that I have ever heard.

"We began the showcase with Craig Urquhart. I have to tell you, Craig's performance was just so beautiful you could float away on it.
Craig played with such purity - I looked around the audience and most everyone had their eyes closed. They were all "somewhere else" in their mind. It was magical! "

Dear Craig-
Greg Maroney and I are friends and through him, I was drawn to the concert
on Friday night here in York.
I wanted to let you know how very much I liked your music. Your style I
found to be delicate, slow, peaceful, quiet and simple. And I mean simple
in the best of ways. As in clear and shining, devoid of distraction and
frenzy.

In particular, I liked "Venetian Snowfall". I tried to find which of your
albums contained it, and then I realized that since it was the premier, it
was not on any of them. Could you direct me to which album of yours might
contain the pieces that would be in the same vein? I do love the delicate
and peace-inducing selections that you played in York. Is that
representative of all of your albums? I really wanted to buy an album that
evening, but didn't know which one would please me the most. So if you can
help me out, I'd like to mail-order one.
.
Sincerely, Suzanne Gates
